Sept. 17/18, 2015 - Biointerface Summer School of the Core Facility BioSupraMol
News from May 21, 2015
The Core Facility BioSupraMol organizes the Third Summer School ”Biointerfaces and Surface Characterization” on September 17/18, 2015 at the Freie Universität Berlin, Takustrasse 3, Lecture Hall, 14195 Berlin.
The Summer School is supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft and the Focus Area NanoScale of the Freie Universität Berlin.
Due to its relevance to the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biomedical fields fundamental and applied research on interfacial phenomena related to systems of biological origin has experienced an enormous boom in the last few years. Linked to this is an increasing demand for better methods of surface characterization. Renowned experts in biointerface research and surface characterization will give an overview about the latest developments. The Summer School aims to bring aspiring PhD students from the broad field of biointerface research together. Starting from an introduction to the topic of biointerfaces an overview of different methods of surface characterization including experimental methods such as XPS, AFM, surface enhanced IR, SPR, MALDI-Imaging, QCM, TOF-SIMS, superresolution microscopy, X-ray scattering followed by an introduction into computer simulations of interfaces will be presented.
Course participants will be accepted based on their written application. The number of participants is limited to 80. The summer school is free of charge upon registration. Registration deadline: July 31, 2015.
